'''Fani Konstantinidou''' (GR) is an Amsterdam based composer / sound artist and researcher. Her research focuses on conceptual composition, sonic images and the perception/imagination of the listener in electroacoustic music. Currently, she is expanding this subject by investigating how the cultural, social and individual differences of the audience can affect the listening process.
Through her music she explores the power of space and time on each individual sound, especially as compositional tools that affect the perception of the listener. She has a particular interest in the combination of computer generated sounds with physical sound sources (soundscapes, musical instruments etc). This year, she examines the possibilities of greek traditional instruments in contemporary music and especially their integration with (live or not) electronics.
She performs live with several artists from diverse disciplines (musicians, visual artists, composers/performers etc) as well as she composes music for fixed media. She is a member of the collective ''Female Effects'' and one of the founding members of the band ''Eclectic Housewives''.
Fani Konstantinidou studied Music Technology and Acoustics (Crete, GR) and finished the MA in Arts and Technologies of Sound - Ionian University (Corfu, GR). In 2011 she obtained her second MA from the Institute of Sonology - Royal Conservatory (The Hague, NL) with the financial support of the Greek National Scholarships Foundation (IKY). At the moment, she is working at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) as a PhD researcher. Apart from her academic and artistic activities, she is involved as an independent professional in several projects and works as a sound designer - sound editor in Amsterdam.
