Ian J Coleis a composer, musician, academic and sound artist, his work has a breadth of diversity from sample based electronica to soundtrack composition and song writing.
He has just been commissioned to work on providing the music and sound design for several audio projects at the University of York where Ian is an lecturer.
In the past Ian has written incidental soundscape music for Interactive software and has just finished the composing, recording and mastering of the album 'Deconstruction : Demolition : Re-invention 'which will be released in 2012.
The album will include the track 'Deconstruction' which is featured at the 2011 Streaming festival. Deconstruction was created completely from one accordion sample and vocals and then blended with environmental sounds.
Throughout 2009 and 2010, Ian created several soundscape pieces which formed his current album Aleatorical Alchemy, This album featured his piece ‘Chaucer's Lament' originally designed for ambersonics (surround sound), it was remixed into stereo with the work being presented at The 2010 Art of Record Production Conference. The piece was also showcased at the Sound Is Art website in San Diego, USA throughout August 2011.
